The goal of the 金融知识 Program is to help Moraine Valley students improve their underst和ing of financial concepts 和 services so that they are empowered to make informed choices 和 take action to improve their present 和 long-term financial well-being. 

全年, a series of programming 和 additional assistance is provided to students at different points of their journey. Whether it is financing their education using financial aid or out-of-pocket, managing household expenses or preparing for life after graduation, 每个人都有适合自己的东西.

First-time financial aid applicants are encouraged to learn more regarding their rights 和 responsibilities as it pertains to receiving financial aid at 冰碛谷社区学院 through our online Paying for College course. The engaging course is comprised of a series of mini-modules covering topics such as Types of 金融援助, 了解财务需要, 令人满意的学业进展, 以及应对援助不足的问题. The course has an embedded knowledge assessment designed to gauge participants’ retention of content.

一旦学生达到经济援助警告, they have a delicate task ahead to ensure their continued financial aid eligibility. Failure to take corrective action could result in the loss of their aid for subsequent term(s). The college has a workshop to assist in the underst和ing of this financial aid status. Workshops are offered at the beginning of each fall 和 spring term. Communication to those needing to attend will be sent accordingly.

Failure to take corrective action to protect your financial aid eligibility may result in the loss of your aid for subsequent term(s). The college has a workshop to assist you in underst和ing the delicate tasks of being placed on financial aid warning.

Accompanying the sequence of topic modules is a knowledge assessment where students are required to complete with a 70 percent or higher.

As federal loan recipients near 70 percent of program/degree completion, they will be prompted to complete the Repayment Success course online aimed at providing an overview of Grace 和 Deferment Period Strategies, 避免拖欠和违约, 还款策略和贷款整合, 举几个例子. This brief course is designed to assist students in making the appropriate plans towards repayment 和 avoid loan default as they prepare to exit the institution.

每年10月, the college offers a series of interactive programming designed to spark conversation around various aspects of financial literacy as well as raise campus wide awareness for the release of the new FAFSA application. Attendance to programming enter students into a campus wide drawing with items sponsored by our campus bookstore 和 community partners.
